The latest version of HTML is HTML5; its acronym refers to the HyperText Markup Language. The three words that make up the name of this programming language fulfill a precise function in the composition of a website.

  • HyperText. Refers to hypertext, the text linked to other content, whether files or more text. This is where the operation of the Internet sites that we know starts.

  • Markup. Refers to the brand or label in the HTML5 computer language, and it serves to identify each element of a website.

  • Language. As in any other language, rules and structures must be followed. That will help in the structure of a Web site, and that is precisely what the word language denotes.
